The Lumix DMC-LX5 Panasonic just a cool compact digital camera for photo enthusiasts that ideal for shooting either pro quality photos or High Definition (HD) video. Equipped with ultra-bright F2.0 ultra-wide-angle 24mm Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens, Lumix LX5 reduce image distortion, obviously resulting in stunning, true-to-life images with high resolution and detail.

The F2.0 lens which is twice bright as F2.8 lens, make it easy to produce beautiful photos with a soft-focused background to the shallow depth of field provided by the extra light. Overall, I strongly recommend the LX5 if you earn by a serious photographer's P&S camera. It woould not replace a DSLR if you need the ultimate image quality and speed, but within the context of a P&S, it fits the bill nearly perfectly for me.

You will be impressed by this camera! Some of the features that were most important to me for a P&S were:

• RAW files - LX5 able to shoot RAW files to changingable WB and give you  maximum flexibility in images Lightroom 3 (preferred)  editing  . 
• Fast glass - f/2 lens!! Even at 90mm, it is still f/3.3! 
• Wide-angle - 24mm (35mm equivalent) is fascinating, Canon S90 only up to 28mm and most P&S no more wider than 35mm. 
• Decent zoom range - The zoom range of 24mm to 90mm is perfect without immolate the  lens  quality and speed.
• Reasonable compactness -  Easy and quick access to the most common adjustment controls. The best handling of a P&S. It is comfort.
• Low light sensitivity - ISO 1600 is usable in a pinch if you aren't going to blow it up too large. 
• Manual controls - You can  quick and easy to do everything manually: aperture, shutter speed, ISO and the controls without digging into deep menus. 
• Sharp, high quality images - They seriously rival images for DSLR with some of f/2.8 lenses.

Some other things to note:

• Has effective image stabilizer. Take sharp photos at 1/10 sec. 
• Record 720p video in AVCHD 
• A hotshoe to attach an electronic viewfinder, flash, or radio trigger.
• Small pop-up flash 
• Removable lens cap.
• Shoot in a number of available aspect ratios: square, 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 
• A quick tap to toggle play (review) to shooting mode by tapping shutter button.
• Addable filters and lens converters with an adapter
