I had to get a New HD camera for my video blog. I was using a Toshiba, that was a piece of rubbish which I should have known since it was a Toshiba. I wasn't looking to spend over $400. I saw this and commenced reading the reviews on it and it seemed decent enough. So far it has preformed way better than expected! I was amazed by the crisp video. It works ultimate on my MacBook Pro. I've noticed a bit low light problems but later realized how to fix that when reading the manual...just an FYI for everyone having trouble with that. I'm giving this a FIVE star rating based on the price category (which it isn't in the price category of a Sony), functionality of the prosumer camera and its user friendly abilities. My real test for this camera will be new years eve at time square which is the main reason I bought this camera.
Don't compare this to a Sony because this camera isn't even in identical category. If you wanna save a couple hundred bucks I highly suggest this camcorder. it's not consultant quality, but if your one of those people that are just....immediatly pull out the expert quality digital camera, record the kids soccer game, or just record your basic everyday stuff this is perfect and I'd like to make it absolutely clear for moms out there that aren't tech savy this is a good one for you...super simple and straightforward to tackle. Another quick thing is if you drop this and don't have any protection scheme (which if you drop this by accident, the manufacturers warranty will not cover that) then your only out $250 instead of $500-$1000 you'll spend on a Sony.
