Nikon D800 36.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera (Body Only)

This time I had the opportunity to try out the full frame DSLR camera from Nikon D800 is. Camera worth nearly 30 million dollars it has major advantages in terms of the resolution to 36 MP sensor, approaching medium format cameras that cost hundreds of millions.

As a complement to this preview, I use sharp prime lens nan the Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 is still able to serve the high-resolution sensor D800. Preview aims to recognize the physical camera, passing performance, noise at high ISO and of course see the detail of the picture.

As a bonus I also follow this with a short video preview, so you can hear my voice :)

Nikon D800 camera of course has been designed to work fast, and make it easier for users to be able to change settings quickly. The proof, provided direct access to four functions WB settings, ISO, Quality and BKT (bracketing), which is in the upper left side. There is also a small wheel to change the metering mode, and FN1 and FN2 button on the front that can be customized for different needs.

No wheels like other camera exposure mode, to change the mode of the P, A, S, M (Auto mode you looking for? Sorry no ..) just hold down the MODE button and see the letters that appear on the LCD. To enjoy the live view, there is the LV with two options, still photo or video. When the camera is used in normal mode (not live view), auto focus was fast and accurate, both with 51 points and 11 points. But when live view, auto focus speed is the same as the other Nikon DSLR rather slow (about 1 second to focus).

Oh yes, the 36 MP sensor, Nikon makes it difficult for processors that can process very large data in a short time. Therefore, only the Nikon D800 can shoot as many as 4 consecutive photos per second, the highest resolution. So it is more suitable for D800 landscape, studio or public needs, rather than for sport or journalism.
Noise at high ISO

Nikon D800 When first launched, a lot of stigma about the quality of the picture. This is because people consider 36 MP sensor, full frame though, too much. The risk is that noise at high ISO would be more visible than a camera with a resolution below. Then it's on the D800 ISO range up to ISO 6400 is limited only just, above it is called the H (High) that H1 (ISO 12800 equivalent) and H2 (ISO 25,600 equivalent). ISO range is exactly the same as in the D5100 belongs to me, and somewhat surprisingly, the noise test both cameras are relatively equal. That is, if the full frame cameras usually have a noise that is cleaner than APS-C camera, the D800 noisenya at relatively the same as APS-C
