Out of the box today You will can see that the HS 30 is a big improvement over my HS 20. For one thing, it will shoot in RAW or RAW plus JPEG. That is exquisite. Also the zoom is threaded (58 mm). That means You can slap a teleconverter lens on it if you don't think you already have enough zoom. One of the things ypu will love about bridge cameras like the HS 30 is that you can let the professional quality digital camera make the decisions for fast shooting, or you can do manual override and make the decisions yourself. You probably would like the little form factor. That means You will really use this camera. the grip is rather comfortable for my woman's hand.
