This professional-grade telephoto telephoto lens is very well made. Its focus is lightning fast and it brings forth very sharp photos with very reasonable contrast and dynamical colors whilst shot wide-open at f 2.8. The amplified sharpness at the corner is easily obtrusive even at f 2.8 and now makes this lens worthy for landscape shots. I find this multiplied sharpness at the corner good even for portrait shots as we shoot off centered rule-of-thirds portrait shots. The ameliorated color and direct contrast is easily noticeable in certain shots in back to back comparison against the VR1.

The VR mechanism is very efficient and helpful in keeping the photos sharp even while shooting at low shutter speeds in low-light conditions. Being able to shoot hand held at 1 10th at 200mm is no gentle task but it is entirely possible in this new version.
